Overview
The Ministry of Tourism describes a truncated-pyramid rock mass, ancient masonry, preserved structures, and an assumed public cult and burial function. A National Archaeological Institute monograph documents the site's phases, finds, architecture, chronology, and proposed functions. The famous label 'tomb of Orpheus' is not an established identification and has been criticized within Bulgarian archaeological scholarship.

Rock-cut forms invite symbolic readings, yet secure description begins with excavated structures, materials, and stratigraphy. Popular stories should remain secondary to evidence and explicitly contested when scholarship disputes them.
