Construction began in 1914. Near the end of Sai Baba’s life, he asked to be taken to the wada. After his death in October 1918, his body was interred there, turning the projected Krishna shrine into the Samadhi Mandir.

The trust remembers this change as part of Baba’s continuing presence among devotees.

People come for darshan; the trust also describes abhishek worship of Sai Baba’s metal image for devotees’ intentions. These observances are arranged through the temple’s own channels.
