    This photograph was taken by me at the Ramalingeshwara group of temples (also spelt Ramalingeshvara) in Avani, Kolar district, Karnataka state, India. There are shrines dedicated to other characters from the Hindu epic Ramayana as well, namely, Lakshmanalingeshwara, Bharatalingeshwara, Shatrugnalingeshwara, Anjanayeshwara and Sugriveshwara.
